ABOUT
The tranquil, breath taking Chara Lodge is situated along the majestic Garden Route of South Africa, just outside the villages of Wilderness and Sedgfield.
Our entrance is directly on the N2, yet tangible tranquility is what you experience the minute you enter. We are surrounded by lush vegetation and fynbos with prolific bird life. The indigenous forests and protected lake areas, lends itself to excellent bird watching. The Malachite Kingfisher Hide and the Ronde Vlei Bird Hide are very close to Chara Lodge and provides a peaceful location from which to view a multitude of bird life. There is abundant bird life with continuous flocks of cormorants, ducks and egrets flying overhead. Listen to the calls of the Fish Eagles, Nightjars, the song of the Southern Boubou and more. (Over 200 bird species can be seen in the area)

Our stunning views and endless activities such as 4 x 4 routes, four wheelers, golf courses, horse riding, angling, boating, day tours, water sport and scenic drives will no doubt fall in every body's taste. We have vast stretches of beautiful beaches and breathtaking view points for watching the whales and dolphins. The famous Saturday Market in Sedgfield is less than 10km from our door.
